Music of Horace Silver - Intermediate to Advanced

There is so much great music written and arranged by Horace Silver. The workshop will cover several pieces and dig in deep. No matter how challenging harmonically or melodically, Horace's music always had a deep groove (special emphasis will be placed on that).

Music of Miles Davis Quintet 1965-1968 - Advanced

The music of Miles's great quintet with Wayne Shorter, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter and Tony Williams will be the focus of this workshop. This group offered many new approaches to jazz improvisation and composition. Open your ears and mind!

Traditional Jazz 1917-1930 - All Levels

This workshop will examine the beginnings of jazz music, featuring music from Louis Armstrong, Joe "King" Oliver, Jelly Roll Morton, Bix Beiderbecke, the early music of Duke Ellington, a young Benny Goodman and the Dorsey brothers. It was a wild time in history and jazz was right in the middle of it all!

Latin Jazz Workshop with Pete Siers - Intermediate to Advanced

Legendary jazz extraordinaire Pete Siers will introduce participants to the fundamentals of Latin Jazz! This workshop is free to all Jazz Fest participants.**
**$80 drop in fee to participate in the Latin Jazz Workshop only.
4:30PM-6:00pm | 2 days: 7/20 and 7/21

 

Open Jam Sessions on 7/19 and 7/21 starting at 8:00PM!

FINAL PERFORMANCE ON JULY 22 FROM 7:00PM-9:00PM!
