Why Music Education?

The Ann Arbor School for the Performing Arts’ mission is to nurture and inspire the musician in all of us and to be accessible to all in the greater Ann Arbor community.

AA-SPA faculty and staff believe that all students, from the novice to the advanced competitor, from the child to the adult, have the right to receive appropriate, individualized, challenging, high-quality, and affordable music instruction. Therefore, our faculty are devoted to empowering students to develop and perform to their fullest potential and make the performing arts a part of their lives for the present and future.

Core Beliefs

We believe that all students should have access to instruction in the performing arts, no matter their income. From the novice to the advanced competitor, from the child to the adult, our students have the right to receive appropriate, challenging, high-quality instruction.
